Go on a nature walk to collect a variety of leaves. At home or in the nursery, place paper over the leaves and gently rub with crayons to reveal the delicate veins and patterns. Children can then cut out their rubbings and arrange them into a colourful collage. This activity promotes observation, pattern recognition and early cutting skills. - Conker Creatures
Conkers (horse chestnuts) are a wonderful natural material. With adult supervision, help children create holes using a skewer or blunt needle and join conkers with pipe cleaners to form caterpillars or spiders. This strengthens fine motor control and sparks imaginative storytelling. - Autumn Sensory Bottles
Fill clear bottles with small pinecones, acorns, glitter and coloured water to make captivating sensory bottles. Watching the contents swirl stimulates visual tracking and provides a calming sensory experience, supporting emotional regulation. - Pumpkin Painting
