About Us
A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future. We believe each child deserves the best possible start in life and do all we can to support them to fulfil their potential.
We provide the opportunity and tools to enable all the children to be secure, happy and become independent.
We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support the children in their learning and allow them to have the best start.
The nursery is also currently enrolled on the Early Years Quality Assurance Scheme and is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We are registered and regulated by OFSTED.
What Makes St. John's Nursery Different?
We know the value of the early years, and how it can set children up for life. Being a smaller nursery, rather than a big chain, means that we really get to know our children and families. Our staff each have a small key group of children in their care.
We use Makaton with all children as part of our everyday activities. This helps to support them in their communication and to grow in confidence.
We make our great early years care and education accessible for all, to create a strong start for all.

I have worked in childcare for 15 years, starting off as an apprentice and now a manager at St. John's. I have been a manager here for 5 years and I really enjoy what I do. Being with the children and providing the best experiences to help them learn and grow ready for their future, and most of all, having fun. I enjoy leading the staff team with their development, and working as a team to provide the best for all of our children and families.

Rebecca Urie
I have worked at St. John's for 3 years, but have worked with children since 2018. As a Level 3 qualified childcare practitioner, with a background in marketing, I enjoy working in the nursery environment, making sure that new and existing parents and carers are kept up to date with all things St. John's, and helping out the rest of the nursery staff.
